1 MYLAR LOUDSPEAKER The Loudspeaker Unit contains an 87mm diameter 12W, 8 Ohm Mylar (waterproof) loudspeaker, with 4mm input sockets. The unit is powered by any laboratory power supply (9-12V d.c). Signal input is via 4mm sockets on the front panel, which includes a volume control. Impedance is 500k ohms (approx.); as such the unit can be driven directly from a crystal microphone, signal generator, radio headphone output etc. The unit is internally protected against incorrect input voltage polarity. Signal output is from the internal loudspeaker or via 4mm output sockets, which allows amplified signals to be displayed on an oscilloscope or used to drive a separate speaker; a two- position switch is provided to select internal or external output. Cat No. Description Price Per SWA-230-100 Amplifier ea. 7 POWER AMPLIFIER WITH SPEAKER “A versatile 10W mono power amplifier unit with integral 12W, 8Ω waterproof Mylar loudspeaker (87mm diameter) and variable volume control. Input can be from a signal generator, other sound source or mobile phone, tablet etc. The speaker can also be used in isolation from the amplifier, if required. The unit requires a 9-12V power supply at 500mA, which can be from a standard lab power supply, via 4mm sockets, or from a d.c. plug top power supply. As well as using the internal speaker, a pair of 4mm sockets are available for output to an external speaker and a switch allows the internal speaker to be switched off – ideal for use with a Rubens’ tube. These output sockets also allow for connection to an oscilloscope for monitoring the signal. Music from a mobile phone, tablet etc. can be input via the 3.5mm jack socket on the front panel.
