1 GEIGER-MULLER TUBE 3B Scientific branded. Self-quenching halogen pulse ionisation chamber for detecting alpha, beta, gamma and x-ray radiation. In metal housing with mica window, removable mounting clamp with shaft. Operating voltage: 400 - 600V (recommended: 500V). Supplied without lead with a BNC socket. Size: Shaft - 100mm x 10mm Dia.; Window 9mm Dia.; Tube - 85mm x 25mm Dia. For use with a 3B Scientific scaler timer. Cat No. Description Price Per RAD-350-100 Geiger-Muller Tube 248.30 ea. RAD-350-150 GM Tube Connecting Lead BNC-BNC 22.76 ea. RAD-350-200 BNC to TNC Lead 24.50 ea. 2 GEIGER-MULLER TUBE - ZP1481 This GM Tube & Holder is housed in a robust casing and has been designed to work directly with scaler -timers and ratemeters which have either BNC or TNC connectors. The GM Tube contained within the holder is the industry standard type, ZP1481, which has a sensitive, large area detection window and can be used for detecting alpha, beta and gamma radiation. The holder provides protection to the GM Tube and includes a fixing rod to allow mounting in a squat base (STR-430-100) or retort clamp. Also contained within the Holder is a high value (4.7 MOhm) series resistor. The detection window has a protective grill covering, which can be removed for detecting low levels of radiation or for performing comparative radiation tests using a test source. The holder also includes an attached lead fitted with either a TNC or a BNC connector (as used in the IPC Scaler timer, TMH- 760-100), for attachment to a scaler-timer, counter or ratemeter. Please note: As with all GM tubes, the detection window is VERY fragile so the GM tube should be handled carefully. If the window becomes damaged, a GM tube will cease to work and is not repairable. Cat No. Description Price Per RAD-340-100 GM Tube ZP1481 With BNC 407.15 ea. RAD-340-150 GM Tube ZP1481 With TNC 407.15 ea. 3 LOGIT RADIOACTIVITY SENSOR For measuring Alpha, Beta and Gamma emissions. Ideal for measuring half life and radioactive decay. Can also be used as a background radiation counter & general radiation detector. Suitable for use with LogIT dataloggers - see pages 131-143. Cat No. Description Price Per DAT-400-300 Radioactivity Sensor 250.26 ea. 4 DOSIMETER RADIATION FILM BADGE This is a non-functional demonstration of the film badges worn by Classified Radioactive Workers to measure the body dose of radiation received whilst working. In actual use, the different filters allow particular types of radiation to pass through to a radiation-sensitive film located behind the filters, and when processed the dose can be calculated. The badge has six filters, as below, but is supplied WITHOUT film. a. An open window which allows all incident radiation that can penetrate the film wrapping to interact with the film. b. A thin plastic film which attenuates beta radiation but passes all other radiations c. A thick plastic filter which passes all but the lowest energy photon radiation and absorbs all but the highest beta radiation. d. A dural filter which progressively absorbs photon radiation at energies below 65keV as well as beta radiation. e. A tin/lead filter of a thickness which allows an energy independent dose response of the film over the photon energy range 75keV to 2Mev. f. A cadmium lead filter where the capture of neutrons by cadmium produces gamma rays which blacken the film thus enabling assessment of exposure to neutrons. Cat No. Description Price Per RAD-800-100 Radiation Film Badge 11.60 ea.
