1 PSU BASE MAX SERIES SCALER TIMER FREQUENCY METER A versatile unit that functions as a frequency meter, a timer, and a scaler/ ratemeter. Six bright 14mm LED digits make it suitable for individual use or class demonstrations. As a millisecond timer it can respond to both rising and falling edge signals for use in timing air track experiments etc using 2 pairs of 4mm inputs. Alterntively a pair of purpose designed light gates are avaialble seperately. As a frequency meter it can accurately measure the frequency of a wide range of inputs including those from a signal generator or stroboscope. In ratemeter mode it will accept inputs from a GM tube via BNC or TNC sockets to easily perform radioactivity experiments. The GM tube is powered by an adjustable 300 to 500V E.H.T. internal supply. A built-in speaker provides an audible indication when used as a ratemeter. A sophisticated microprocessor handles all the functions and the unit is very easy and intuitive to operate.

2 SCALER TIMER FREQUENCY METER A multi-purpose instrument which is invaluable in the physics laboratory, combining the functions of a multi- purpose timer, a ratemeter and a frequency meter in one compact unit. It has four, 7-segment LED digits, 13mm high. The high brightness and large size display make it ideal for classroom demonstrations. It can be used as a simple stopwatch or more sophisticated applications such as dynamics experiments with air tracks etc. The scaler and ratemeter modes allow numerous radioactivity experiments to be undertaken. When used as a frequency meter the instrument will accept diversified waveforms and may be used to determine the rotational frequency of a stroboscope disc and for displaying the frequency of a waveform from a signal generator. The instrument can be pulse operated to enable moving bodies to be timed using phototiming gates. When used as a scaler or ratemeter the input signal can be via either a GM tube or a solid-state detector with an audio output. Housed in a robust metal case with a durable powder coated finish.
