1 VIBRATION GENERATOR - STANDARD Provides mechanical oscillations when given input signals from a signal generator. The frequency response encompasses the whole of the audio spectrum and beyond. Electrical input via a pair of 4mm shielded sockets. The oscillating mechanical output is available through a shaft at the top with a screw for attaching apparatus such as Resonance (Chladni) Plates. For experiments in producing standing waves on a string or elastic cord to demonstrate resonant frequency, harmonics, nodes and anti- nodes. Also for use in experiments with resonance in springs, Chladni plates etc. The design includes two 4mm safety sockets for signal input and the unit is fuse-protected and lockable, to protect moving parts while changing accessories. A string holder, mounting post, and a spare fuse are included with the apparatus. Frequency of vibration ranges from 0.1 Hz to 5 kHz, with amplitudes up to 7mm at the low end of the frequency range. The Vibration Generator may be used sitting upright, on its side, or inclined e.g. on an OHP. 3 VIBRATION GENERATOR - 3B SCIENTIFIC Housed in a robust plastic case with a vertically protruding mounting pin with a 4mm socket for attaching accessories (Chladni plates, resonance wire, rubber band etc.).
