3 CARBON FIBRE SHEET This ultra-smooth sheet material is an aerospace quality carbon-fibre reinforced composite. The sheet can be cut on a suitable guillotine and shaped with conventional tools. Size: 100 x 100 x 0.5mm. Cat No. Description Price Per SMP-050-100 Carbon Fibre Sheet 5.71 ea. 4 CARBON NANOTUBE Carbon nanotubes are currently one of the most intensively studied nanomaterials with their unique molecular structure resulting in several potential exciting applications in current day nanoscience. Using this kit you can make a graphene sheet, carbon nanotube, carbon 60 (buckyball) and related structures with up to 260 carbon atoms. Instructions show how the carbon atoms can be arranged to illustrate the different symmetries of carbon rings in the nanotube to create the chair, zigzag and chiral structures. The kit uses the Minit molecular building system and contains 260 atoms to make a nanotube model 50cm long. Cat No. Description Price Per MOL-700-100 Carbon Nanotube 26.73 ea. INORGANIC CRYSTAL STRUCTURES - ORBIT Supplied with instructions. Cat No. Description Price Per 5 MOL-550-100 Orbit Diamond Model 11.14 ea. 6 MOL-550-150 Orbit Graphite Model 11.14 ea. 7 MOL-550-200 Orbit Carbon 60 Model 8.44 ea. INORGANIC CRYSTAL STRUCTURES - MOLYMOD® With instructions. Cat No. Description Price Per 8 MOL-050-200 Molymod® Diamond 12.95 ea. 9 MOL-050-250 Molymod® Graphite 17.84 ea. 10 MOL-050-150 Molymod® Buckminster Carbon 60 20.66 ea. 1 TWO-WAY MEMORY SPRING These remarkable springs, based on a brass alloy, ‘remember’ to open up at around 90°C and close again when cool. If immersed in hot water at or around 90°C they will open in a split second and close as quickly if dropped in cold water. Cat No. Description Price Per SMS-350-100 Two-Way Memory Spring 3.56 ea. 2 SMART SPRING A 5mm dia. x 12mm (when closed) spring made from shape memory alloy. At room temperature this spring is soft enough to pull out to approximately 50mm by applying a small force. When heated to 70°C by passing an electric current through it, the spring contracts to its original length with a useful pulling force (equivalent to lifting a 0.5kg weight). Cat No. Description Price Per SMS-150-100 Smart Spring 7.08 ea.
