SODIUM HYPOCHLORITE DISINFECTANT GENERATOR - NEW! These electrolytic sanitisers provide a simple and effective means of producing Sodium hypochlorite solution for sanitising purposes. Simply add water and standard salt (NaCl) to the generator, stir or shake to dissolve the salt, switch on and wait for the hypochlorite solution to be generated. Using electrolysis, these appliances produce disinfectant solution with a concentration from 150 to 1200mg/litre, depending on model and setting, which can quickly and effectively kill many bacteria and viruses, and provide a clean (i.e. no additives), safe, environmentally friendly and hygienic way to disinfect. The sanitisers can be set to produce different concentration ranges, to suit your requirements, and the solution produced can be stored for up to 30 days (less for the lowest concentrations). Soak, wipe or spray items or surfaces for effective, environmentally friendly sanitising, with up to 99.99% kill rate.

Two models are available: a ‘kettle’ type with a capacity of 2 litres, or a spray bottle design with a capacity of 500ml.

The concentration of solution produced is dependent on model and time setting used, as below.

Uses in schools include: Soaking and sanitising of lab equipment e.g., safety glasses, glassware and plasticware; Sterilising drinking containers and utensils; Cleaning hard floors, bench tops and other surfaces (sinks, tiles etc.); Soaking & cleaning of dissection and cutting boards, dirty cloths etc. To use, simply add tap water in the machine, add the required amount of salt (using the measuring spoon supplied) and stir (kettle design) or shake (spray design) until fully dissolved. Connect to the power, select desired concentration required and wait for the cycle to complete. The prepared solution can now be used, as required. The prepared solution can be stored in amber glass storage bottles, or in a cool dark place, for up to 30 days (less for the lower concentrations). Please note: Do not store prepared solutions in the appliance.

Please note: Sodium hypochlorite is essentially a weak bleach solution; as such it can cause bleaching or discolouration of non-white cloths and materials. Important: The spray bottle version requires a mains plug to USB adaptor, as this is not supplied with the product. A USB cable is included, but you do also need a UK plug with USB output socket, which is available separately (see below).
